WALK/RUN/CYCLE 140km in stages, as an individual or a team before 16 Aug 2020
The Walk for Wild was established by Leon Varley in 2012.
Every year Leon pledges to walk 140km to support the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. From 2020 we are reaching out to people around the world to virtually join in.
Wherever we are, every one of us is experiencing the impact of COVID-19. Across Africa the effects of the virus now threaten the livelihoods of millions of people as well as the future of the continent’s unique wildlife.
Walk/Run/Cycle for Wild with us in our “Virtual Walking for Wild Challenge 2020” wherever you are starting 16th July – 16th August 2020 you can make a difference. You can choose to walk, run or cycle the full 140km alone or as a team in a relay. You just have to complete the 140km before the end of 16th August 2020. If you can’t find a team don’t worry just do a portion of the distance i.e. 7km, 14km etc.. and send in your time with photos and videos, we’ll automatically assign you to another team.
Our goal is to raise US$12,000 for veterinary medications for Wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and management.
Please join us on a global run, bike ride or wild walk from your garden, street, park, beach or treadmill! Together, we can still all make a real difference.
This isn’t a race, there isn’t an entry fee and there’s no stop watch.
